ARTIST’S STATEMENT
This is a statement of what could be lost, the rhino stark against the black of oblivion. Critically endangered, the black rhino faces extinction from poaching and habitat loss. I depict endangered animals because it is through connecting with emotion that people act. We are culpable and it is only through our efforts that they can be saved and perhaps restored.
