In the Sumatran forest the calls of birds resonate high in the branches, while below a tiger sleeps bathed in a patch of sunlight.
Big cats are one of my favourite mammals. Sadly the Sumatran Tiger is only found on the Indonesian island of Sumatra and is considered Critically Endangered.
This drawing is from a photo taken at Auckland Zoo. The basis of this drawing is in polychromos oil pencils with additional highlights in oil paint.
