ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I am always buoyed to see the circular passage of welcome swallows. They are a graceful bird in flight. Often found perching on man-made structures and within open buildings. Growing up I loved to listen to the chirp of young swallows in the grass and mud nests that adorned the wooden walls of our family’s vineyard cottage.
In this piece the metallic blue of the bird’s wings almost glow against black background, contrasting with the soft rusty-red breasts. This is an accent piece to compliment any room. It can be hung alone or grouped with other prints from the same collection. Each week I am drawing new pieces to expand this range of birds against black backgrounds.
