ARTIST STATEMENT

I love the vivid colour Australia’s small kingfishers, particularly the azure kingfisher. They are like orange and blue fringed meteors racing through the canopy shadows. This is a scene of one of these small birds perching in a sunlit space. That tranquil moment before it darts beneath the overhanging shade of vegetation.
